In memory of our late sister Liang Fei Seang

A graduate of USM, she was posted to Batu Gajah as a school teacher. In the past 4-5 years she had zealously worked for the Lord in the local assembly, playing an active role in the Young People's work & Sunday School. She gave free tuition for students in the Gospel Hall.   She also wrote poems for this Homepage which I have reproduced below.

Her sudden death on 5th August 2002 at an age of 29 years came as a great shock to all of us. We are unable at this moment to understand why the Lord allowed it to happen but only to cling to the assurance that God is in full control. We grieved and mourned at the loss of a dear sister in Christ.

Poems written by Liang Fei Seang:

You Are The One

Life is hard without Your love
Life is broken without Your grace
Life is meaningless without Your presence
And there is no future without Your blood

For Your cross gives me the hope
For Your word gives me the joy
For Your promises give me the strength
And You give me the water of life

You are the one
Making this life meaningful
You are the one
Making this life full of rainbows
And You are the one
Making the rhythm of this life

Rhythm Of Life

There is one desire
To worship and praise You
To sing and honor You
To be in Your presence forever and ever

This is my rhythm of life
To worship and praise You
For there is nothing greater in this life
Besides worshipping and praising You

Candle and Star

Like the candle
I want to burn
To give light to the world
Though each burn causes so much pain

Like the star
I want to shine
To light up the darkness
Though each shine is so dim and weak

I want to crucify
All the pain I have
I want to crucify
All the sorrow I have
For the world lets me down
But Your love lifted me up

It is Your love, O God
Melting all my bitterness
It is Your grace, O God
Making me stand firm
It is Your faithfulness, O God
Molding me into Your image day by day

Heartbeats Of Life

It is easy to say that I love you, Lord
But it is so hard for me to read Your Word
It is easy to say that I want to be your disciple
But it is so hard for me to share with your sheep
It is easy to say that I want to be faithful
But it is so hard for me to put it into action

O my Faithful God,
Though I have failed you so many times
But you never fail me
O my Loving Father,
Though I have turned away so many times
But your arms open widely for me

For Im not worthy to have your love,
But you chose to give
To this prodigal son that you love
It is your love that gives the heartbeats of this life
Let this beat continue for your mission
And it is for you and you alone.

The Cross

When I turn my eyes to the cross
I see the joy of carrying my cross
Though I have to go through the valley
And yet I still rejoice
For my satisfaction comes only from the cross
Which has been nailed into my heart.

Let it be nailed
Let it be nailed
Nail it to each of my cell
For my eyes only focus on You
Only the nails in Your hands
Give me the joy for carrying my cross

Let it be nailed
Let it be nailed
Nail each heartbeat with your mission
For I live my life only for You
Let the heartbeats of this life
Be the instrument of Your love

In the BIble Psalms 23  says:

1. The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
3. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
4. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
5. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
6. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.

My friend-FAY

by Sasikala Prabakaran

Death is a part of life but somehow it is hard to accept the death of a loved one.It is hard to speak of Fay in the past tense. To me, her presence is as real as ever.

As I grieve over the loss of a dear friend, I would like to look upon her as a person who had touched many hearts and who had been a blessing to many.

Fay had friends from all walks of life and varied age groups. She got along with seven year olds and sixty year olds. She had friends of all races.A selfless person and one who valued friendships she gave much of herself to others. As a great listener she would empathise with her friends.I knew that I could always count on her.

Fays close friends knew her as a good cook ( the Penang laksa that she dished out was a favourite of many).A self-taught budding musician she spent part of her leisure, brushing up on her musical talents on the keyboard.

Her poems are a mirror to her soul. They reflect her hopes, dreams and aspirations. How many people knew of her poetic tendencies?Fays poems can be accessed via www.

Fays seemingly frail figure belied a spiritual strength that was overwhelming and unshakeable. She was a true soldier of Christ.Dauntless of the task ahead of her,she marched on with a tireless vigour and a relentless spirit to win souls for Christ. She believed that God had high expectations of her and so she gave herself only to the things He had asked her to do.

It is, therefore, not surprising that Fay was a great motivator and leader in church-sanctional activities.Very few people were aware that Fay conducted free tuition classes at the Batu Gajah Gospel Hall where she taught Mathematics and Geography. On Friday nights,Fay led the young teenagers in Bible Study classes.Well, that was Fay.She just did things without hype.

Fay had many traits that one could emulate:she was sincere, generous, diciplined, prayerful and a stickler for order. Most amazing was her fiery spirit of independence.

I will miss Fay.She was a lamp that burned and gave light and we enjoyed her light for a short time.I carry a profound sadness within myself and yet I find relief in the simple fact of recalling all memories of her-the shy smile; the energetic rhythm of her swift stride;an arched brow of disapproval;pouting lips that signal disagreeance;her quick burst of laughter; soft strands of long, silky, hair brushing across her face. I could go on and on.

Time may erase  some of these memories but there is one that is deeply impressed upon my heart :  her quiet strength, endurance and character to lay down her will and wait quietly upon the Lord and hear His calling.  I could  learn from her.

My dear sister-in Christ, till we meet again.  Farewell, FAY.

Sister, Comrade, Friend

by Seow Pall Yong

Every thought of you still brings a tear,
 Every memory a prickly pain
When will the heart stop aching,
How do we stop missing one so dear.

We will always remember your infectious laughter,
Your cheerfulness that always lifted us
Your zealousness was an encouragement to us,
Your tireless service a quiet testimony of your love for God.

We want to thank you for your fellowship,
Thank you for all the joys we shared
Thank you for teaching us to love, to be kind and
To live our lives for others like you did.

You were so sensitive to every burden we carried,
Every need of ours lovingly became yours
You were always there for us when we needed you,
You were indeed our sister, comrade and friend.

But we were not there for you when you needed us most,
We are sorry you had to be alone until the very end
We can only say, Forgive us, Fay
 If only we had known

We remember your every move,
You have left your touch in so many things
We thank God for giving you to us these few short years.
We will always miss you until we meet again.

Meanwhile, we would like to think of you
As an angel sent from God
To visit us and to touch us,
 Like only He could.

How do we begin - in sadness or joy?
For the reality of losing a dear friend
Is not like breaking a toy
Because this is where one journey breaks
And another begins.

Fay - a woman passionate about her faith<
That's what most will saith
Determined, brave yet shy
But challenges, oh, that she would really try,
Words of God, spoken in encouragement
A ready heart to serve in every embankment,
But we rest in this sure knowledge
Of a place in glory she has completed the race

With Hope
Steven Curtis Chapman, Speechless Album

This is not at all,
How we thought it was supposed to be
We had so many plans for you
We had so many dreams
And now you've gone away
And left us with the memory of your smile
And nothing we can say
And nothing we can do
Can take the pain away, the pain of losing you

*But we can cry with hope
We can say goodbye with hope
Coz we know our goodbye is not the end
And we can grieve with hope
There's a place by God's grace where we'll see your face again

And I've never known
Anything so hard to understand
And never have I questioned more the wisdom of God's plan
But through the cloud of tears
I see the father smile and say "well done"
And I imagined you where you most wanted to be
Seeing all your dreams come true
Coz now you're home and now you're free
We have this hope as an anchor
Coz we believe that everything
God promised us is true

*So we wait in hope
And we ache with hope
We hold on with hope
We let go with hope
